WALEY THUNDERBOLT EARNS RANGERS A POINT |
||
|
As you can tell from the name of the opposition, we were playing a team of fracking comedians. They weren’t comedians in the end as they failed to make me laugh, resembled more a team of Chavs and couldn’t even manage the same coloured tops. It would have been nice if half their team turned up on time, forcing us to play straight through, instead of letting me get cold. To show the shambles that is this league, the referee didn’t even bother to try and get 1 Chav in a red shirt to change, seeing we were in the red and black. Our so called head start never materialised due to their lateness and Waley needed to waddle for miles to retrieve his filthy warm up shot from over the bar as only one of the gates was unlocked. All in all, its all a load of b*llocks. The oh so rib splitting named ‘Your Mums Athletic’ are presently sitting top of the league, after only dropping 2 points so far all season, so the Ranger boys would be up against it. Early doors the Athletic Mothers passed the ball with far more composure and speed than us. Having played in the league for several seasons, they had their tactics down to a tee, whilst we are still trying to come up with a starting formation. It’s only a matter of time before Manager Wheels makes up his mind. After about 10 minutes, the Mothers managed to beat the hapless Wheeler in goal. With no-one closing down a majestic run from midfield, the shot was clinically dispatched into Wheels left hand corner. About this stage of the game, Waley had finally managed to return from collecting the ball from over the fence and joined the action. He had an instant impact, forcing the Rangers to play a slower more controlled passing game, with only the occasional burst of speed from Waley As there was no half time, I have no idea if we equalised in what would have been the 1st half or the 2nd. Some neat passing between the Rangers set up the chance for Waley to fire home from far out, giving the keeper no chance. Our next best chance came again from Walie as he cut inside only for the keeper to advance before he could put us into the lead. At the back, another fine save from Wheels in goal and some heroic last ditch defending from Bob kept the score line at 1-1 at the final whistle. Your Mums Comedy Athletic were not that good, can be easily beaten next time round once we have acquired some tactics and fitness of course. This result cementing us in 3rd place, 3 points behind the comedy geniuses at the top.
